Forest close to home
Sundre is considered a forestry town, and many properties around it sit among trees. FireSmart Alberta recommends Class A roofing and advises against wood shakes. Our roofs can be built as Class A Fire Rated Available, as a complete assembly, with two layers of GAF VersaShield® over 12 mm (15/32-inch) plywood. Aluminum does not burn, but no roof is fireproof.
Foothills snow
Snow comes off an aluminum roof in sheets, so we plan snow guards over doors, decks and paths. Ice dams start with heat escaping into the attic, and the material warranty excludes them; we look at your insulation and ventilation with you.
